U.S. and Israel Attack on Iran: 49 years in the making

(The Basic/Short Version) For the sake of brevity this write up is a very concise summation of what led us to where we are today with the US/Israel 'War of Choice' with Iran. For readers who aren't aware of how this war began: February 28th, US military (following the lead of Israel) launched an unprovoked attack against Islamic Republic of Iran. That's it in a nutshell.

As of this writing, April 12th, 2026, this war has been going on for right at around 40 days, not including the 2 week ceasefire that started on April 8th. But the reality is that this aggression was a very slow and intense burn that started just under 50 years ago in 1979 after the Iran Revolution had overthrown the puppet monarch, Shah of Iran 26 years earlier. That's where we need to start.

August 19th, 1953, the then democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran¹, Mohammad Mosaddegh², was overthrown in a coup d'état³ which left open a power vacuum that was immediately filled by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi⁴, the Shah⁵ of Iran. The coup was coordinated and executed by the United Kingdom⁶ (MI6⁷) and the United States⁸ (CIA⁹). The objective was to protect British oil interests in Iran after Mosaddegh nationalized the country's oil industry for the interest of the people of Iran. The nerve of that guy, right? Doing stuff to benefit his people. (cue sarcasm)

After 26 years of boiling civil unrest which included violent clashes between the puppet regime and the growing number of opposing factions among the Iranian people, it all culminated into the Iranian Revolution of 1979 that was led by an Islamic cleric by the name of Ruhollah Khomeini, who eventually became Iran's first supreme leader. This shocked not only the US and the western powers but also around the world. This was a major embarrassment for the US because in that event, not only did the America-led consortium of oil interests lose control of one of the largest oil reserves in the world; but the profound loss of strategic political power in the region was also a result of the revolution. Of course this placed a big American target on Iran ever since.

The Israel role was already at play in the background but came to the forefront post-revolution while at some point the UK's role faded to the background (likely always ready to play their part when and if the time comes). Israel's "Greater Israel" initiative, a regional expansionist/imperial ambition, has been a lofty dream of the regime for decades and the only thing standing in its way of becoming a reality has been its arch enemy, Iran. The US and Israel came up with a propaganda push to convince the world that Iran is trying to build a nuclear weapon. Israel's Bibi Netanyahu seemingly has made this his ultimate reason for life itself because for at least 30 years he's made multiple appearances in front of the world's governing organizations constantly declaring that Iran is just "days or weeks" away from having a nuclear weapon. There has never been any conclusive evidence supporting that allegation but that never stopped the "Epstein Coalition" from trying to convince the whole world that the Iranian Republic is an "evil regime" and must be stopped from building a nuclear weapon to use against the free world. Now, one might wonder, even if Iran did pursue and successfully build a nuclear weapon, why is that such a threat to the US and Israel? Well, seeing that possessing a nuclear weapon is the ultimate deterrent against militaristic aggression, it doesn't take a math whiz to connect the dots. A nuclear Iran means the Greater Israel that's been the highest political objective of Israel for decades is dead in the water — because no one would be stupid enough to attack a nuclear-powered nation. See North Korea to get a picture of this reality. So any would-be US/Israel acts of aggression are virtually nonexistent. So here we are today. There's a lot left out that will give a better grasp of it all and there's plenty of easily accessible documents available online that can provide that for you.

For the Pan African you might ask: So what's this to do with Africa? Glad you asked.

Pan African Impact: Geopolitics is a dynamic and fluid phenomenon where the direct impact on one nation often has indirect impact on others that might be right next door or on the other side of the world. This War of Choice against Iran is a perfect example and Africa is especially affected by this war due to the heavy, fast-growing political and economic interests of both the US and Israel on the continent, as well as west Asian allies of the US who have been bombarded with Iranian missiles and drones due to providing military support from American bases in those countries. The US economic system is held up by the "petro dollar" scheme backed by Saudi Arabian oil, where the US and Saudis devised an arrangement where all Saudi-based oil has to be bought using US dollars. That keeps the dollar in circulation and in demand around the world and allows the US to take on debt to keep the economy going. Iran's shutting down of the Strait of Hormuz leaves western powers looking for alternative sources for oil and other natural resources like natural gas, and the most practical region to source this from would be African nations. This has already started with France and other countries like Italy looking to create "real" partnerships — on paper anyways. So time will tell, because there's no way of knowing which direction this war will take, but as for now, Iran has the upper hand and there's no reason to suspect that will change at any time in the foreseeable future.
