Africa Must Stand with the Malian People
The cities of Gao, Kati, Kidal, Mopti, and Sévaré were simultaneously stormed by terrorist groups at dawn on April 25, 2026. Some were quick to conclude that the Malian state had collapsed. A view I do not share at all because, if the United States, considered a major military power, was attacked on September 11, 2001, and if attacks were carried out in France (the “Charlie Hebdo” offices and the Bataclan) in 2015, this means that no country is safe from terrorism. Mali has always known it could be attacked at any moment because those who organize and finance this terrorism have never forgiven it for having been asked to leave its territory. But did the terrorists achieve their objectives (killing Malian leaders, taking control of the Malian state)? No. Admittedly, Sadio Camara, the Minister of Defense, and others—both military and civilian—were killed in this umpteenth deadly attack, but do we know how many terrorists were neutralized and how many were taken prisoner? Why don’t RFI, France 24, and TV5 mention this?
Instead, these media outlets have rejoiced at General Sadio’s death. Certainly because they subscribe to French General François Lecointre’s idea that Europe must recolonize Africa. A ludicrous idea put forward in 2024.
Yes, white people want to recolonize the African continent to seize its wealth for free, so that they, the Westerners, can continue to live in luxury while Africans sink into poverty. They will then boast of being developed and wealthy nations. That is the whole point of this war waged against Africa. That is the true motive behind this new Western barbarism, for let us not forget the truth revealed by Nicolas Sarkozy on March 16, 2023, before the National Assembly’s investigative committee on France’s energy sovereignty and independence: “Europe is the most barbaric and brutal continent.”
This is why the African Union, ECOWAS, and English-speaking Africa cannot continue to remain silent and passive.
Some South Africans are currently hunting down Nigerians and Congolese living in their country. As if the Africa of Nyerere, Sékou Touré, Gaddafi, and Kaunda had not helped Mandela and Oliver Tambo fight against apartheid. These uneducated and ungrateful people should understand that they are fighting a false battle and that the real battle is the solidarity of all Africans with the ESA countries. Young people and military resources should be sent to the three Sahel countries to enable the leaders of the AES to put an end to the actions of those who want to halt the African revolution that began in Bamako in 2022.
I support the AES
